Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation

The Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation is the joint charitable arm of the five Scottish Rite Valleys in Iowa.

What We Believe

The purpose of the Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation is to put into action the charitable tenets of Masonry. We  believe that all we are and have are gifts of our Creator and should be shared with others.

History

The Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation began with a single donation by a Scottish Rite Mason in 1959.  This contribution encouraged several other donations of $25,000 each.  With this base, the Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation was founded in 1963 by William Koch 33°.  The Foundation would consist of all five Iowa Scottish Rite Valleys in joint sponsorship.  Over the last 40 years, the Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation has supported annual giving in excess of $100,000 - made possible by generous bequests, individual contributions and sound investments.

Foundation Membership

Membership in the Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation is open to all Iowa Scottish Rite Masons.  A Board of Trustees, consisting of two members from each of the five valleys, recommends administrative and policy decisions to the general membership.  A list of the Foundation Board is provided below.

Annually, the Iowa Scottish Rite Masonic Foundation meets to award fellowships and conduct business affairs.  This meeting is traditionally held in the spring and open to the public.  For more information, contact the Foundation Office at 515.288.8927.

Grand Commander’s VisitGrand Commander Ronald Seale, 33°

The Fall 2006 Reunion marked the 100th anniversary of Letters of Temporary which created the Valley of Sioux City. In honor of this occasion, Grand Commander Ronald Seale, 33° delivered the keynote address on Saturday, October 28th. This is a huge honor for all Iowa Scottish Rite Masons to have the Grand Commander in attendance at a Valley event.
